The Stained-Glass Woman is a multi-generational family saga — a fictionalized account of successful psychopaths — those clever and lucky enough to slip under police radar, whose crimes appear to be accidents, illnesses, or bad luck; who sabotage romances, blight relationships, and hijack lives; who drive their nearest and dearest to nervous breakdowns, mental institutions, and suicide — who appear to be the mentally healthiest in their families, and who die old, rich, and honored — even by their hoodwinked victims.
The author turns lemons into lemonade, following the recipe 1:1:6: 1 cup juice to 1 cup sugar to 6 cups water, discarding seeds and rind, squeezing the juice, sweetening it with the things that make life bearable — the beautiful, amusing, and interesting; dreams, parody, satire, and word play — and diluting it by shuffling a pack of lies into the deck of truths.
